Pickup Truck Crashes Into Home in Thalang, Driver Begs Not to Call Police

A pickup truck crashed into a home in the Thalang district.

The Thalang Police were notified of the accident at 2:00 A.M. on Saturday (July 1st) on the Don Jom Tao Road in the Thep Krasattri sub – district. Police and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the damaged pickup truck which had slammed into a house.

There was significant property damage, however, nobody was injured.

The house owner, Ms. Napaphon Khaothong, 40, told The Phuket Express that the driver told her that he has a previous drunk driving road accident . He did not want to call the police and wanted to resolve the situation personally with the homeowner as he feared that this time he could be jailed for a significant period of time.

However, the driver who was identified only as Mr. Kieat, later agreed to let Napaphon call the police as she refused to deal with the situation and severe damage privately. He was then taken to the Thalang Police Station.

His exact charges and if he was above the legal blood alcohol limit were not revealed by Thalang Police.

The total cost of damages to Napaphon’s home were still being tabulated as of press time.
