Motorbike Rider in Thalang Killed by Hit and Run Driver

A motorbike rider died after being hit by a car in Thalang. The driver did not stop and fled the scene but a part of the car was left behind, leaving a clue for police investigators.

The Thalang Police were notified of the accident at 5:40 A.M. Saturday morning (July 1st) in Baan Para, Pa Klok. Police, emergency responders and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the damaged motorbike lying on the road.

The rider, Mr. Sampard Waree, 57, from Thalang, was found unconscious nearby. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Part of a Toyota car was found at the scene. Police are checking CCTV footage to find the suspected vehicle and driver for further legal action.
