Whale Shark Spotted at Phi Phi Island

Krabi –

A whale shark was sighted at Phi Phi Island in Krabi!

The manager of Island Diver company Mr. Jirasak Puttawan told the Phuket Express that this week he recorded a video of the whale shark underwater near Bi Da Nok Island in the area of the Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park in the Ao Nang sub-district.

The whale shark was about six meters long and surrounded by small fish. It is usually very rare to see whale sharks in the area. However, Jirasak believes that this is the same whale shark that was spotted last week.

The underwater ecosystem has been recovering a lot after the Covid-19 pandemic even though the number of visitors have increased more marine animals are coming to this area.
