Taxi Driver Injured after Car Crash in Phuket

Phuket –

A taxi driver sustained injuries after his car crashed into a tree and a traffic sign on a central reservation in Thalang.

The Thalang Police were notified of the accident 4:46 P.M. on Tuesday (May 30th) on the Thep Krassattri Road northbound lane in the Thep Krasattri sub-district.

Emergency responders and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the damaged taxi car on the central reservation. The taxi driver, Mr. Monsit Mapiyapan, 51, had sustained multiple injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital. No passengers were in the taxi car during the time of the accident.

Witnesses told the Phuket Express that there was heavy rain and the road was wet. The taxi car, which was driving at high speed, lost control and veered onto the central reservation before it crashed into the tree and traffic sign.
