Myanmar Man Drowns after Searching for Fish near Beach in Thalang, Phuket

A Myanmar man drowned while searching for fish near a beach in Thalang.

Rescue workers were notified of the incident that a Myanmar man had gone missing after he went out into the sea to search for fish near Layan Beach on Monday (May 29th).

A search was launched and the body of the Myanmar man was found on Wednesday (May 31st). His relatives said the man went out to search for fish in strong waves.

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has warned of heavy rain across Thailand and possible flash floods in the southern and eastern regions.

  • Southern (Andaman Sea)

Possible rain with a chance of about 70 percent in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, and Satun. Waves are more than three meters in thunderstorm areas.

The Phuket Marine Office has issued a warning informing that small boats are being banned from leaving ports into the open sea until June 4th, 2023.
