Phuket Releases Warning for Boats Going Into The Sea

The Southern Meteorological Center (West Coast) has issued a warning for small boats from leaving ports into the open sea on Monday (May 22nd).

The Director of the Southern Meteorological Center (West Coast) Mr. Wiroj Liwjaroensap told the Phuket Express that according to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD), a southwest monsoon is covering the southern parts of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. More rain is taking place in the southern parts of Thailand and heavy rain in some areas is possible.

Waves in the Andaman Sea are up to two meters high in the open sea or more than three meters high in a thunderstorm area. Boats going into the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution. Small boats should be kept ashore.
