Rassada –
Two people have been pronounced dead after a pickup truck crashed into an electric authority staffer who was working with cables. A pet dog that was walking nearby was killed as well.
Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 11:25 A.M. on Friday (May 19th) on the Thep Krasattri Road in Rassada, Mueang Phuket. They and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the damaged pickup truck on the road.
One person who was an electric cable staffer walking near a power pole was pronounced deceased at the scene. A driver who was stuck inside the pickup truck sustained severe injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The names of the deceased were not released by Rassada authorities.
A pet dog was also found dead at the scene. The dog owner said the dog was walking nearby at the time of the accident and released a photo of their deceased pet as a tribute, seen below.
CCTV footage nearby shows the pickup truck driver lost control of their vehicle before crashing into the electric authority staffer, wooden ladders and a power pole.
