A garbage collector sustained leg injuries after a sedan crashed into the back of his garbage truck in Mueang Phuket.
The Phuket City Police were notified of the accident just before midnight (May 16th) on the Chalerm Phra Kieat Rama Road (Bypass Road) in Rassada.
Police, emergency responders, and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find that a damaged sedan was found stuck at the back of a garbage truck. Mr. Yao, 48, a Myanmar national who goes only by one name, a garbage collector, had sustained injuries to both of his legs . He was rushed to a nearby hospital for assistance.
The garbage truck driver, Mr. Narin Jokthong, 42, told the Phuket Express that he had stopped the truck while garbage was being collected by staff. Suddenly, a sedan crashed into the back of his vehicle where Yao was working, injuring Yao and damaging the garbage truck.
The sedan driver, Mr. Piyapong Chimtab, 38, told Phuket City Police that he was going to his friend’s birthday party in Chalong. He admitted he fell asleep before losing control of the sedan.
Police are continuing their investigation for possible further legal action.
