UPDATE: Phuket Motorbike Taxi Rider Facing Charges of Making Threats and Defamation

A motorbike taxi rider who was fined after he was caught being impolite and unprofessional to a passenger in Patong has faced more charges of making threats and defamation and has a past history of the behavior.

The motorbike taxi rider was later identified by Patong Police only as Mr. Prasertchai, 37, from Nakhon Si Thammarat.

The victim, Ms. Wilaiwan, has also filed a report for legal action against the motorbike taxi driver. The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Thursday (May 11th) that the motorbike taxi driver has faced other charges for making threats and defamation in the past and Prasertchai admitted to the charges. Thai courts had already judged him and he was imprisoned for one year but received suspension of his imprisonment sentence with probation.

He was also fined for 4,000 baht. It is expected after this most recent incident that Prasertchai will return to jail without probation.
