The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) reports that the arrival number of Chinese tourists has increased from 91,898 in January to 285,000 in April of this year.
The director of the East Asia TAT Mr. Chuwit Sirivejkul told TPN Media “The number of Chinese tourists arriving in Thailand this year will reach five million people. More than six million flight tickets from China to Thailand have been booked and sold from April to October. Meanwhile there will be up to 430 fights from China per month starting from June this year which will be an increase of more than 100 flights per month.”
“In the past labor day weekend, the number of Chinese tourists were up to 20,000 per day and there will be up to 10,000 per day this month. The number has been increased per day from 2,500 in the past February,” Mr. Chuwit added.
“From January to April this year the number of foreign arrivals overall was 8,596,452. Of those 843,920 were from China.
