Fifteen Gamblers Arrested at Old Department Store in Phuket Town

Fifteen gamblers have been arrested in the basement of an old department store in Phuket Town.

Region 8 Police Lieutenant Colonel Kittipan Siriphon told the Phuket Express that on Sunday night (May 7th) they received a tip-off that there was a gambling den at a snooker table in the basement of an old department store on the Dilok Uthit 1 Road in the Talad Yai sub-district. The department store was closed about a year ago.

Police raided the basement where they arrested 15 unidentified gamblers. Seized from them was 20,560 baht in cash and gambling cards. A man identified only as Mr. Dom was presented as the caretaker who operated the gambling den.

He and the other 15 gamblers were taken to the Phuket City Police Station for further legal action.
