Man Arrested with Blacktip Reef Sharks in Phuket

A man was arrested with four black tip reef sharks at Panwa Cape in Wichit.

The Phuket Marine Resources Conservation Center told the Phuket Express on Tuesday (May 2nd) that they have arrested a man identified only as Mr. Dis, 22, at Panwa Cape in Wichit. Seized from him were four blacktip reef sharks of less than 50 centimeters in length.

Mr. Dis was taken to the Wichit Police Station for allegedly breaking the orders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment announcement of the Environmental Area Protection Zones in Phuket.

Protection zones in Phuket include Panwa Cape in Wichit.
