Ao Nang –

A foreign tourist allegedly stole clothes from a local shop in Ao Nang, Krabi and the incident was caught on CCTV.

The owner of a clothes shop in Ao Nang reported the incident to the Ao Nang Police along with CCTV footage.

She told police that over the past weekend a female foreign tourist came into the clothes shop alone. She took the clothes off from a mannequin before she quickly exited the shop and sped away on a motorbike.

The owner only realized the theft had occurred later after she found that the mannequin was naked before she checked CCTV footage.

The stolen clothes cost only about a hundred baht but the angry store owner demanded police take action and find the suspect to “make an example” out of them to discourage similar behavior from tourists.

The theft could also potentially see the tourist, if caught, facing a yellow or red card under an Immigration scheme to punish troublemaking tourists.

Three female Indian tourists were arrested at an airport after stealing shorts and a bracelet from shops in Ao Nang.
