A Phuket minivan knocked over six power poles in the small hours of today, April 23rd. The driver suffered non-fatal injuries.
The accident, which occurred on Koh Kaew-Ban Sam Kong Road in Phuket’s Mueang district, was reported to Mueang Phuket Police at 02:30 AM.
The accident scene was a two-lane road. Six collapsed utility poles were discovered at the scene along with a crumpled minivan and an unidentified man stuck inside.
The authorities assisted the man and rushed him to a local hospital. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The officers also temporarily closed the area once they found that the poles had electricity leakage.
Phuket Police told The Phuket Express that the driver collided his minivan with the pole and knocked it over, leading to other poles to be pulled down.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
