Patong –
A motorbike thief in Patong has been arrested in Rawai with some help from social media.
Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they have arrested a man identified only as Mr. Chanchai, 30, from Songkhla. He was arrested in Rawai with a stolen motorbike. He is facing charges of theft.
The arrest came after the motorbike owner, whose name was withheld, filed a report to the Patong police. They checked CCTV footage nearby which clearly showed the suspect’s face. The motorbike owner posted the CCTV footage in the Newshawk Phuket local Facebook group.
Locals in Rawai recognized the suspect’s face and the stolen motorbike from the social media group . They reported his identity to the Chalong Police before they arrested the suspect.
