Samui Ferry Damaged After Being Hit by Heavy Waves, No Injuries

Samui, Surat Thani –

A ferry was partially submerged and damaged after being hit by waves at a pier near Samui Island.

The Surat Thani Marine Office told the Phuket Express that on Sunday afternoon (April 16th) a passenger ferry from the Raja Ferry company was partially submerged at a pier in Donsak.

It is believed that after the ferry was hit by waves, the ferry hit something underwater before water leaked into the ferry, causing it to lean heavily.

No passengers were on the ferry and no injuries were reported. The ferry normally travels from Donsak to Samui Island. The damage is not expected to be significant and should be repaired fairly quickly, according to officials.
