Kitchen Staffer Dies After Being Stabbed by Colleague at a Hotel in Thalang, Phuket

A kitchen staffer at a hotel in Thalang has died after being stabbed by a colleague.

The Cherng Talay Police told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the incident at a hotel in Cherng Talay on Thursday (April 13th).

They arrived at the kitchen to find blood stains on the floor. A man identified only as Mr. Roongroj, 23, had sustained severe injuries from stab wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect, identified only as Mr. Sarayut, 20, was immediately arrested at a parking area in front of the hotel with a 15 inch knife. He was taken to the Cherng Talay Police Station. The Cherng Talay Police told the Phuket Express that Sarayut is facing charges of intent to murder.

At this stage, police believe that they might have a verbal argument that escalated to violence before, however, Sarayut was not willing to conduct an interview or answer questions from the media as of press time.
