Two People Injured After Explosion on Tour Boat in Phang Nga

Two people have sustained injuries after an explosion on a tour boat in Phang Nga.

The Thai Maritime Enforcement Operation Center Region 3 told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (April 11th) at night they were notified that an explosion took place on a tour boat which was parked at the Thap Lamu Pier in Tai Mueang.

The Tai Mueang Police told the Phuket Express that two boat crew members have sustained injuries who are Mr. Aroon Kanpaksuan, 25, who was thrown from the boat and Mr. Panyawut Poethong, 26, who had sustained severe injuries from burns. They were both taken to a local hospital.

Local residents who heard the explosion rushed to the scene and helped to put out the fire in the engine room of the tour boat.

The exact cause of the explosion is still being identified.
