Krabi –
Tourists are scared to go into the sea because of lots of seaweed found on Ao Nang Beach in Krabi.
Heavy seaweed was reportedly found at Ao Nang Beach on Monday (April 10th) near the Hat Noppharat Thara Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park Office along a a one kilometre stretch on the beach. Tourists are were scared to go into the water.
The Head of the National Park Mrs. Ratchanok Paenoi told the Phuket Express that it is just green seaweed which is a normal phenomenon happening every year in summer.
Seaweed has been washed up on to the beach due to the hot temperature of the sea water and the current. The seaweed is not dangerous and not a hazard for swimming or health, Ratchanok stated.
National Park staff are collecting the seaweed every morning. It is believed that the seaweed will be gone by the middle of this month.
