Phuket Motorbike Rental Operators Warned About Parking on Public Roads

Phuket –

Motorbike rental operators in Phuket Town are being warned of parking on public roads after multiple citizen complaints.

The Phuket City Traffic Police on Saturday (April 1st) inspected motorbike rental operators on Montri Road near Phuket Old Town.

The Phuket City Traffic Police told the Phuket Express that the inspection followed after they received many complaints that rental motorbikes are parked on the roadside and made other motorbike riders have difficulty finding parking spaces.

The Phuket City Traffic Police have talked with those motorbike rental operators and informed them that they are not allowed to park motorbikes for rent on the roadside as this is for personal benefits and the roadside is for public use.

Motorbike rental shops have to park their motorbikes in their shops or their own parking lots, if they have one. According to Phuket City Traffic Police, the shop owners have agreed to follow the rules.
