Two Bryde’s Whales Spotted in Phang Nga

Two Bryde’s Whales were spotted near Similan Island in Phang Nga.

Mr. Lertsak Ponklin, the manager of the Wow Andaman Tour Group told The Phuket Express on Wednesday (March 29th) that a tour boat with multiple tourists was travelling near Similan Island.

They spotted two Bryde’s Whales near Ninth Island (Koh Gao). When the tour boat was traveling about five minutes later, they spotted another Bryde Whale.

Mr. Lertsak sent the video to a marine expert who has confirmed they are Bryde’s Whales.

The Phuket Express noted that Bryde’s Whales are rarely seen. However, since the national park ecological system has improved more whales are coming to the area.
