French Tourist Goes Missing in Jungle on Adang Island in Satun

Satun –

A search was launched after a female French tourist went missing in a jungle on Adang Island in Satun.

Police in Satun were notified from a 191 emergency call on Thursday (March 30^th) about the incident.

Ms. Claire Marie Theophane Drapeau, 29, a French national, was lost near a viewpoint on the Adang Island in the Tarutao National Park. A search was launched until night time yesterday, March 30th, when the hunt was suspended due to poor lighting.

The search continued again this morning at daylight, Friday (March 31^st).

Officials found that Ms. Drapeau stayed at a resort on the famous Lipe Island nearby. She had traveled to the R-Dang Island alone. She walked up to a viewpoint but later veered off the natural trail route into the jungle on her own which was when she was last spotted.
