UPDATE: Australian Man Involved in Patong Bar/Restaurant Fight Arrested

An Australian customer has been arrested after being involved in fighting with the foreign staff of a bar/restaurant in Patong.

A wild brawl involving both foreign staff of a bar/restaurant and foreign tourists went viral in Phuket, Thailand.

Now for the update:

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express on Tuesday (March 28th) that they have arrested a man identified only as Mr. Karen, 34, Australian national.

Mr. Karen, who was a customer at the restaurant, was disappointed and upset that he had to wait for food and threw a bottle at foreign staffers who were legally working identified only as Mr. ALOMARI, 25, Jordanian national and Mr. Ahmed, 26, Egyptian national before the fight started.

Karen reportedly admitted to starting the altercation but blamed alcohol and said it was out of character for him.

Both parties apologized to each other but the Patong Police told the Phuket Express that all would face charges of fighting and possible yellow or red cards under a new classification system for misbehaving foreigners being tested in Phuket.
