Rider Dies After Motorbike Collides With Truck in Rawai

Rawai –

A rider has been pronounced dead after their motorbike collided with a truck in Rawai, Mueang Phuket.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 10:50 A.M. on Thursday (March 23rd) on Rawai Beach Road.

They and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the unidentified male motorbike rider. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Nearby the first responders found his damaged motorbike.

The victim’s body was taken to a local hospital and the truck and the driver Mr. Samam Kontha, 58, from Sa Kaeo were interviewed at the scene.

CCTV footage from the Rawai Municipality shows that the truck was coming from the opposite lane before colliding with the motorbike.

The truck then tragically ran over the motorbike rider. However, the Chalong Police are continuing their investigation for further potential legal action.
