Two Monks Found at Abandoned Hotel in Phuket Test Positive for Drugs

Thalang, Phuket –

Two monks were found at an abandoned hotel in Thalang and tested positive for illegal drugs.

Thalang District Chief Bancha Tanuin told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (March 21st) a village headman and the head monk in Thep Krasattri sub-district inspected an abandon hotel in Baan Mueang Mai.

Two monks were found staying at the abandoned hotel. They were originally from a temple in Nakhon Sawan, central Thailand. However, the head monk in Nakhon Sawan was contacted but they have refused to take the two monks back.

The two monks tested positive for illegal drugs. They were defrocked and are ready for further legal action.
