Man Arrested for Snatching Mobile Phone From German Tourist in Thalang

A man was arrested for snatching a mobile phone from a German tourist in Cherng Talay.

The Cherng Talay Police told the Phuket Express today (March 17th) that yesterday (March 16th) they were notified from Mr. HAUGG FRED, 56, a German national, that a male Thai suspect snatched his mobile phone in Soi Cherng Talay 14.

The Cherng Talay Police went to the scene and checked CCTV footage where they found the suspect who lived at a house in Cherng Talay.

Police found Mr. Nissan Islam, 27, inside the house. He admitted that he snatched the Samsung S20 mobile phone from the tourist and police recovered the stolen device.

Nissan is facing charges of theft and remains in custody as of press time.
