Two Seafood Restaurant Owners in Phuket Arrested With Various Protected Fish Including a Moray Eel

Phuket –

Two seafood restaurant owners in Phuket have been arrested with various protected fish including a Moray eel.

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources Phuket Office told the Phuket Express that on Friday (March 10th) they arrested two seafood restaurant owners in Phuket.

Seized from them were various kinds of protected fish including a Moray eel. The two unidentified owners were taken to the Phuket City Police Station for further legal action. Police withheld the names of the restaurants as well pending further legal action.

The arrest came after a video clip of a person eating a Moray eel at a restaurant in Phuket went viral in Thai social media last week.
