The WPG#1 New Offshore Water Jet Championship is the first Phuket Island Coastline Water Jet Ski Tournament to showcase Phuket as a world-class sports destination.
The offshore competition will take place two kilometers off of Bang Tao Beach, showcasing to international audiences the beauty of the Andaman Sea along Phuket Island.
The concept of the “WGP#1 Waterjet Offshore World Championship” is to determine the winner of a race of 120 kilometers or 74.56 miles which is the distance of one lap around Phuket Island.
The race is going to “Start from Laguna Beach to Phrom Thep Cape”, which is the first leg of the race with a distance of 60 kilometers. There are two 60-kilometer legs in the race which make up the total 120-kilometer distance.
In addition, in an effort to reduce their carbon footprint, they will be introducing an eco-friendly electric jet-ski at the event.
