Krabi –

A Swedish man was found dead inside a tent on Ao Nang Beach in Mueang Krabi.

The Ao Nang Police told the Phuket Express they were notified of the body on Tuesday (March 7th) on Ao Nang Beach. Emergency responders and police arrived shortly after on the beach.

The body of a 60-year-old Swedish man was found inside the tent. (The Phuket Express is withholding his name pending embassy and family notification.)

The Ao Nang Police told the Phuket Express that the Swedish man died at least two days before his body was found. No sign of a struggle or altercation was found inside the tent. Empty beer bottles and cans were found inside and outside the tent.

Local residents nearby told Ao Nang police that the Swedish man stayed in the tent alone since March 3rd. He was last seen on March 5th after he bought beer from nearby shop.

Very few personal possessions or belongings were found in the tent but Ao Nang police found that the Swedish man posted on his personal Facebook that his belongings were taken by a wild monkey nearby four days ago.

It was unclear why the man was living in a tent on a Krabi beach and his visa status was not immediately made known.
