More than 15,000 Tourists Join in Full Moon Party on Phangan Island

Phangan Island, Surat Thani –

More than 15,000 tourists joined in the Full Moon Party on Phangan Island in Surat Thani.

The Sumui Public Relations Department told the Phuket Express that the Full Moon Party this month had been postponed from March 6th to March 7th due to the Makha Bucha Buddhist holiday in which alcohol sales were banned by Thai law.

However, many tourists had arrived on the island days before the religious holiday for their vacation. There were more than 15,000 Thai and foreign tourists that joined in the Full Moon Party on March 7th.

The Phangan Marine Office took care of safety to make sure that all passengers on the ferry to the island were wearing life jackets and boats were not overloaded.

The Koh Phangan Police were also patrolling on the beach to prevent crimes. There were no reports of any major incidents or problems.
