Counterfeit Brand Name Shirt Factory Raided in Kathu

A counterfeit brand name shirt factory was raided in Kathu with three suspects arrested.

Officials from the Intellectual Property Department told the Phuket Express that they raided a house in a housing estate in Soi Kathu Waterfall. They found machines and equipment used for shirt production in the house.

Officials also raided two nearby houses where they found thousands of counterfeit brand name shirts. Three suspects were arrested and counterfeit shirts seized. They were taken to Kathu Police Station for further legal action.

Officials from the Intellectual Property Department told the Phuket Express that many foreign tourists are coming to Phuket since the tourism situation has improved. Many counterfeit brand name goods are being sold to tourists which has damaged Phuket’s tourism image.
