Patong –

A transgender person in Patong was arrested after snatching a gold piece of jewelry from a British tourist.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Thursday morning (March 2nd) they arrested Mr. Jakkree ‘Tan’ Kaewakhart, 26, from Sing Buri in Central Thailand. Seized from Tan was a gold piece of jewelry worth more than 10,000 baht.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that the arrest came after they were notified that a suspect snatched a gold necklace from a tourist on the Ratch Uthit 200 Pi Road. Patong Police arrived at the scene to find MR. DILAN MANISH AMIN, a British national.

He told police that a transgender person snatched his gold necklace from his neck. Mr. Amin’s unidentified friend told police that the suspect was at the end of Bangla Road.

Jakkree was finally arrested and taken to the Patong Police Station. At first, police were unable to find the gold necklace before they asked Jakkree to take off their high heel shoes. The gold necklace was wrapped inside tissue paper and hidden under Jakkree’s right foot in the high heel shoe.

Patong Police told the Phuket Express that Jakkree is facing a charge of theft. Police also found that Jakkree has been arrested before for gold snatching.
