Karon –
Locals are urging authorities to investigate after foul smelling black water was found flowing into the sea at Karon Beach.
On Sunday (February 26th) residents and tourists were playing in the sea at Karon Beach near Nong Harn Lake. They got out of the sea after lots of black water was found flowing into the sea. The sea water then turned black and smelled badly.
Locals told the Phuket Express that this was not the first time. Foul water has been found flowing into the sea since Friday (February 24th). They believe that the foul water is allegedly being released from businesses nearby without any treatment.
Foreign tourists told the Phuket Express that this should not happen in this tourist destination where lots of beachgoers and swimmers visit the beach.
