Bar in Phuket Town Raided For Allegedly Opening and Selling Alcohol Past The Legal Closing Time

Phuket –

Law enforcement officers raided a bar in Phuket town after it allegedly illegally opened and sold alcohol past the legal time.

A team of officers from the Mueang Phuket District and the Phuket City Police raided a bar on Chana Jaroen Road in Talad Yai sub-district after midnight today (February 23rd).

More than 200 people were found inside the bar.

The Phuket City Police told the Phuket Express that they arrested Mr. Wisarut, 27, a bar manager. He was unable to present a legal bar license to officers. He was taken to the Phuket City Police Station to face charges of opening an entertainment venue without permission and selling alcohol past the legal time.

The raid came after officers received complaints from concerned citizens that the bar opened past the legal closing time.

Law enforcement officers have continued their inspection of entertainment venues in Patong after complaints from concerned citizens of opening after the legal closing times.
