Phuket Plans to Connect Wichit and Chalong with a Bridge

Phuket –

Phuket is planning to connect Wichit and Chalong in the Mueang Phuket district with a bridge.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, visited Phuket this week. Mr. Phiphat also visited the area where a bridge project is planned to connect the Wichit sub-district and Chalong district. The bridge project is at Mudong Canal.

Mr. Phiphat told the Phuket Express that the bridge will improve transportation. The plan for the bridge is to be eight meters wide and 280 meters long.

The bridge will be very useful for both locals and tourists as well as solve traffic problems, said Phiphat.

In addition, the bridge will be a new landmark and can make a walking street market nearby in the future.

The Phuket Express notes though that final approval and a timeline around the bridge construction is not yet announced or clear as of press time.

Nor were costs of the project given by Phiphat, The Phuket Express adds.
