At Least Five People Dead, Five Seriously Injured after Pickup Trucks Collide in Krabi

Krabi –

At least five people have been pronounced dead at the scene while another five sustained serious injuries after two pickup trucks collided in Krabi.

The Krabi Pitak Pracha Rescue Foundation reports that they were notified of the accident this morning (February 16th) on Petch Kasem Road in Tap Prik, Mueang Krabi.

The first responders arrived at the scene to find two pickup trucks on the roadside. Five people were pronounced dead at the scene while five others sustained severe injuries. They were taken to a nearby hospital. All are Thai.

A Mitsubishi pickup truck was carrying eight people, most who are shrimps catchers. Three of them sustained serious injuries. Five people were pronounced dead at the scene, three people in the pickup truck cab and two on the back of the pickup truck bed.

Two people in another pick up truck sustained severe injuries. They were travelling from Kampaeng Phet in Central Thailand to Krabi.
