Fire Guts Speedboat on Samui Island

Samui Island, Surat Thani –

A fire destroyed a speedboat on Samui Island. No injuries were reported.

The Thai Marine Enforcement Command Center (Thai – MECC) reported the fire started after midnight on Sunday (February 5th) near the Seatran Port in the Bang Rak, Bohut sub-district. Officers from the Thai – MECC and other relevant officers arrived at the scene.

The speedboat was parked 50 meters from the shore. Many speedboats were parked nearby. Other boats were moved away from the stricken boat.

The Thai – MECC reports that the boat on fire was heavily damaged and finally sank. No death or injuries were reported. No oil leak was found nearby.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated as of press time.
