Now for the update:

The head of the Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park Mr. Sathit Tantikrittaya said today (February 3rd) three Bryde’s whales were sighted in the Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park for the second time recently.

Two of them are known to officials and named in the Thailand Bryde’s Whales system as Wan Dee and baby Wan Roong which were sighted yesterday as well. According to Thailand Bryde’s Whales system, Wan Roong, the baby, was born in September 5th last year. The third whale is still being identified.

From the Bryde’s whales record, only one or two Bryde’s whales are found in this area per year. After the national park areas were closed to tourism during Covid -19 from 2020 to 2021, the national park ecological system has improved and more whales are coming to the area.
