UPDATE: Search for Missing German Tourist Continues near Phangan Island

Phangan Island, Surat Thani –

The search for a missing German tourist who reportedly jumped from a ferry near Phangan Island in Surat Thani has continued.

The Royal Thai Navy Second Area Command reported to Thai media that they were notified that a male foreign tourist jumped from a ferry heading from Phangan Island at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday (January 31st) to Donsak in Surat Thani.

The full search by the Surat Thani Marine Police, local rescue divers, and the Phangan Marine Office has continued in the sea and on beaches at Tae Nok and Tae Nai Islands in which these islands are the closest islands from Phangan Island.

Meanwhile boat operators are helping to search between the route from Samui Island and Phangan Island to Surat Thani.

The Surat Thani Tourist Police said that Mr. Florian Storz, 35, entered Thailand via a tourist visa valid until today February 2nd, 2023.
