Missing Bag with Passport Returned to American Tourist in Phuket

Phuket –

A bag with a passport and various credit and identification cards have been returned to an American tourist in Phuket on time just before leaving the country.

The Phuket Tourist Police told the Phuket Express that on Sunday (January 29th) at about 7:30 P.M. Mr. Edward Freitas, 29, American national, got in a taxi in Phuket Old Town before getting off at the Bang Naew Intersection in Phuket Town.

Mr. Freitas forgot his bag which had his passport and various cards in the taxi. He could not remember the taxi number plate. Mr. Freitas was scheduled to be on a flight leaving Thailand to Sydney tonight (January 30th).

Social media helped to share the incident to help find the driver in which finally the taxi driver showed up to the Phuket Tourist Police with the bag this afternoon and returned the precious items to Mr. Freitas. Mr. Freitas said thank you to the taxi driver, the Phuket Tourist Police, and local social media and then proceeded to go catch his flight as scheduled.
