Patong –

No jet-ski operators or staff on Patong Beach tested positive for drugs in a recent crackdown, said relevant authorities.

A team of officials sent from the Kathu District Chief yesterday (January 27th) conducted urine drug tests on multiple jet-ski staffers with no notification in advance.

The Kathu District Chief Mr. Siwat Rawangkun told the Phuket Express, “This is part of a campaign we are calling “X-Ray” to suppress illegal drug usage and sales.”

“Staff from jet-ski businesses on Patong beach were given drug urine tests, in total 56 people. None of them tested positive for drugs.” Mr. Siwat stated.
