Phuket Elephant Camp Businesses Ready for Chinese Tourists

Phuket –

Elephant camp businesses in Phuket are ready to welcome Chinese tourists.

An elephant business operator near the Nark Kerd Hill (Khao Phra Yai) in Soi Yod Sanae, Chalong, told the Phuket Express that Chinese tourists were the main tourists who visited elephant camps in Phuket before Covid -19. In fact, Chinese tourists amounted for about 80 percent of foreign tourists visiting elephant parks overall.

In recent times, slightly more than 60 percent of elephant camp customers are Russian and Kazakhstani tourists.

According to elephant parks, visitors like to join elephant riding activities, taking photos with elephants, feeding elephants, and riding ATV’S watching natural scenery.

Elephant parks and camps have prepared to welcome more Chinese tourists by increasing the number of Chinese language signs and still maintaining anti-Covid -19 measures like wearing of face masks.

TPN media notes that elephant camps, especially those allowing riding, are controversial to many western visitors due to cultural differences and as a result heavily depend on visitors from China and Russia.
