Patong Car Rental Operator Arrested for Parking Vehicles in Public Spaces

Patong –

A car rental operator in Patong has been arrested after allegedly parking cars for rent in a public area near Patong Beach.

The news came after a personal Facebook user first posted the issue in the Newshawk Phuket Facebook group this morning (January 25th). The post had later gone viral in social media.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express today that they inspected the area after the complaint. The car rental operator has been arrested. The Patong Police explained the law to the operator whose name was not given by police. The Patong Police did not give any other details about the charge and the fine.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that parking spaces on the road are for public use and not for private businesses. There are many Thai and foreign visitors who need parking spaces near the beach.
