Phuket –

The Phuket Municipality is inviting people to join in the annual Lantern Festival in Phuket Old Town for the beginning of the Chinese New Year.

The Phuket City Mayor Saroj Angkanapilart told the Phuket Express that the festival is being held at the Charter Intersection in Phuket Old Town until February 5th. Phuket had started to hold the Lantern Festival since 2016 in order to preserve local tradition and to boost tourism.

Not only is the town being decorated with lanterns but houses and businesses in the area too. Please come and take photos of beautiful old town scenery with lanterns.
