Krabi –

A German tourist has sustained serious head injuries after he fell down from a hill at a cave in Krabi.

Rescue workers were notified of the incident at 4:00 P.M. yesterday (January 10th) at the Tiger Cave Temple in Mueang Krabi.

More than 10 rescue workers went to the cave with rescue equipment. They ascended the hill up over a thousand steep steps, which you can see below for yourself.

Rescue workers told the Phuket Express that the young German tourist, 19, sustained serious head injuries and was bleeding heavily. He was still conscious and alert, however.

The German tourist was placed on a rescue board. It was very difficult to transfer the injured man down from the hill which took more than two hours. He was rushed to a local hospital.

The German tourist had been travelling with his friends. They were on the top of the hill to see the beautiful scenery at the top of the 1,143 step ladder. The tourist fell down a portion of the 1,143 steps which was about 94 steps he fell in total.

It was not clear how the young man fell but the steps and climb is extremely difficult and steep.

Rescue workers have warned other tourists to be more careful as many tourists were injured from falling at this place.
