Two More Recent Leatherback Sea Turtle Nests found on Phang Nga Beach

Phang Nga –

Two more, the seventh and eighth in total, recent sea turtle egg nests have been found in recently discovered nests on a beach in Phang Nga, North of Phuket.

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that two leatherback sea turtles had recently laid eggs on the Baan Thung Darp Beach in the Koh Phra Thong sub-district, Kura Buri district.

Both nests are full of eggs in which the area is not affected by seawater or poor weather. Those eggs were not removed from their nests. However, the two nests are being fenced for their protection.

A total of 131 leatherback sea turtle eggs have been found in a sixth recently discovered nest on a beach in Phang Nga, North of Phuket.
