Sixth Recent Leatherback Sea Turtle Nest Containing 131 Eggs Found in Phang Nga

Phang Nga –

A total of 131 leatherback sea turtle eggs have been found in a sixth recently discovered nest on a beach in Phang Nga, North of Phuket.

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express today, (January 3rd), that a leather back sea turtle had laid eggs on the Na Klua Beach in Kok Kloi, Takua Thung.

Officials found the leatherback sea turtle nest containing a total of 131 eggs with 116 of them being fertile eggs. The eggs have been relocated to a safe area nearby due to concern of damage from the weather.

A total of 148 leatherback sea turtle eggs have been found in a fifth recently discovered nest on the same beach last month.
