First death of Phuket Seven Days of Danger announced after motorbike rider crashes into trailer

A rider died after they crashed their motorbike into a trailer truck in Thalang which makes the first death from a road accident in the New Year’s Seven Days of Danger.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 4:00 A.M. this morning (December 31st) on Thep Kasattri Road in the Thep Kasattri sub-district.

They and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the trailer truck on the road. At the back, they found the damaged motorbike. Nearby, they found the body of the motorbike rider who was later identified as Mr. Sarayut Tamchoo, 32, from Thalang, Phuket.

The truck driver, Mr. Narong Jaiban, 43, told The Phuket Express “I was slowing down my vehicle and about to stop on the side of the road when the motorbike rider crashed into the back of me.”

Witnesses told the Phuket Express that Sarayut was riding at high speed before crashing into the back of the trailer truck.

However, the Thalang Police are continuing their investigation for further legal action.
