Thai motorbike rider dies after Russian man crashes his car into him in Rawai

A Thai motorbike rider died after a car with a Russian driver crashed into him in Rawai.

The Chalong Police told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the accident at 9:40 P.M. last night (December 28th) on the Patak Road in Rawai.

Police, emergency responders and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the damaged black car on the road. The driver, Mr. Igor Chub, 51, a Russian national, was waiting at the scene for relevant officials.

Nearby, police found the damaged motorbike. The rider, Mr. Panuwat Jornpradit, had been pronounced dead at the scene.

Three vehicles nearby were damaged which included a minivan and a taxi car. Witnesses said the black car driven by Igor crashed into the motorbike. However, the Chalong Police are continuing their investigation for further legal action.

Mr. Chub did not speak to the press or give a statement about the incident.
