Crane Truck Crashes into Power Pole and Vehicles in Phuket, Driver Blames Brake Failure

Thalang –

A brake failure on a crane truck caused it to crash into a power pole, motorbikes, and a pickup truck in Koh Kaew.

The Phuket City Police were notified of the accident on Monday morning (December 26th) on the main Thep Kasattri Road southbound near the Bang Khu Underpass.

Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the damaged crane truck had crashed into a power pole. The injured driver, Mr. Suwapan Homthongteerachai, 58, was stuck inside the cab. Rescue workers used a hydraulic cutter to free him. He was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

Mr. Suwapan told The Phuket Express that the crane truck might have had a brake failure as he was unable to control the vehicle.

In front of the crane truck Phuket City Police found a damaged parked pickup truck and two motorbikes. No injuries were caused.

The Phuket City Police are continuing their investigation and considering further legal action.
